Here is the problem when you swap out OEM lamps in a Sidel Matrix blower: the heating curve almost always shifts. It’s more than just fitting the socket
Matching a lamp isn’t as simple as making sure it plugs in. We obsessed over the heat density per millimeter. By locking in the exact voltage and wattage, the infrared radiation profile looks exactly like the OEM curve. This kills those annoying “cold spots” you get with generic lamps that have the wrong filament length. The result? The temperature ramps up exactly how you expect it to. You won’t have to spend your entire afternoon tweaking oven settings just because you changed a bulb.
The nitty-gritty on the build
We use high-purity quartz glass because these things take a beating with constant rapid cycling. The filament is tuned for short-wave infrared emission. Why? Because it actually sinks into the PET material instead of just bouncing off the surface. Plus, we kept the footprint and connectors identical to the Matrix series. You just wire them up and go. No modifications, no drilling, no fuss.
One thing to watch out for
Now, there is a catch. High-wattage short-wave lamps put out a ton of heat. That puts a lot of pressure on your oven’s ventilation. If your cooling blowers are clogged with dust or starting to fail, these lamps will push the ambient temperature too high. If that happens, you risk warping your reflectors. Just keep your airflow clear. As long as the air is moving, the thermal profile stays exactly where it needs to be.
