
Getting Your Krones and SIPA Blow Molders Back in Sync
Running high-speed PET lines is a bit of a balancing act. You’re chasing that perfect thermal sweet spot. But let’s be honest: when the OEM maintenance bills start piling up for your Krones or SIPA machines, it hurts. You need a replacement that actually works—something that hits the same heat flux without slowing down your cycle times. The deal with power and voltage Most of these machines lean on high-wattage quartz halogen lamps. We build our tubes to handle the specific voltage swings of your local grid. Take a 400V setup, for example. It lets us pack more wattage into a smaller space. That gives you the concentrated shortwave infrared heat you need to soften those PET preforms fast. Just a heads-up: if you crank the wattage to make up for lost time, keep an eye on your cooling fans. If they’re clogged with dust, your reflectors will warp. And that’s a headache you don’t want. Why the glass and connectors matter We use high-purity quartz. Why? Because these tubes go through a brutal cycle of heating and cooling. Cheap glass cracks. Ours doesn’t. You’ll see R7s or Sk15 connectors on most of these. They’re the gold standard for a reason—they fit tight and they don’t resist the current. We also add a special coating to the quartz. It shifts the emission spectrum so the heat actually sinks into the plastic wall of the preform. It stops that annoying surface scorching and gets the heat where it belongs. Swapping them out without the stress These are direct replacements. You won’t be rewiring your oven or hacking away at the lamp holders. We obsess over the tube length and pin spacing. We want you to be able to swap these during a planned shutdown and actually get home on time, rather than fighting with the hardware. One last thing: make sure they’re seated perfectly in the socket. A loose connection creates an arc. That arc will fry your socket and kill your brand-new lamp in a few days.Push it in. Make sure it’s snug.
