If you’re running high-speed PET blowing, you know the struggle. You don’t just need heat; you need it to actually get inside the plastic. When we work with systems like the Husky HyPET or Sidel SBO 4/6, the goal is simple: get the core of the preform hot without torching the outside. It’s a delicate balance. The trick to deep penetration Most standard IR lamps just blast the surface. That’s a problem. We tweak the quartz and the halogen dosing to shift the wavelength, which basically lets the heat slide past the outer layer and sink deep into the PET. No more “cold spots” in the middle. When the heat is even, the stretch is consistent. And when the stretch is consistent, you stop throwing away so many rejected bottles. It’s a relief. Fitting them into your line These are drop-in replacements. We make sure they fit the exact footprint of your OEM oven so you aren’t fighting with the hardware. We also balance the wattage and voltage carefully. You want high heat density, but you don’t want to fry your power rails. Just a heads-up: if you crank up the wattage to shave time off your cycles, keep an eye on your exhaust. That much heat puts a lot of pressure on your cooling blowers. Built for the grind Blow-molding environments are messy. Between the grime and the PET off-gassing, lamps usually take a beating. We use reinforced end-caps and treated quartz glass to keep them from burning out or getting clouded over. One quick tip on installation:make sure those contacts are seated tight.
