
Getting Your Husky HyPET Ovens to Actually Heat Through
If you’ve spent any time with Husky HyPET systems, you know the struggle. You’re running at high speeds, but the heat just isn’t hitting the center of the preform. You end up with a nightmare scenario: the outside is starting to scorch, but the core is still too cold to blow properly. It’s a physics problem, plain and simple. Standard lamps just don’t dig deep enough into the plastic. That’s why we redesigned our lamps. We shifted the spectral output to focus on deep infrared penetration. Instead of just heating the “skin” of the preform, our lamps soak right into the core, getting the plastic to the exact temperature it needs to blow clean. The power side of things We built these for high-wattage density because we know your cycle times are tight. By tweaking the voltage and the way the filament is shaped, we’ve cranked up the radiant flux. What does that mean for you? The preform absorbs heat faster. You can shave off dwell time in the oven and keep things moving. Just a heads-up, though: pushing more wattage into a small space puts more pressure on your cooling blowers. If your cooling system is clogged or dusty, the oven chassis can overheat. Keep those blowers clean. Better glass, better reach We use high-purity quartz glass here. Why? Because when things get incredibly hot, cheap glass burns out. We also use a halogen cycle to keep the filament from degrading, so these lamps actually last. But the real secret is the coating. We added a specific layer that filters out the short-wave radiation—the stuff that usually just bounces off the surface—and amplifies the wavelengths that actually penetrate the PET resin. No headaches during install There’s nothing worse than a “replacement” part that requires a toolkit and three hours of swearing to install. These are true drop-ins. We use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors, so they slide right into your existing sockets. No rewiring. No mods. We also kept the dimensions exact to the millimeter. If a lamp is even slightly off in the cage, you get cold spots in your preform. We kept the tolerances tight so you can swap them out during a quick changeover and get back to production without fighting the hardware.
